Welcome to our new site......where
you can explore life with a parrotlet !
This
comprehensive site should not only help you decide if a parrotlet is right
for you, but it should also give you all the information necessary to
make an educated decision on whether one (or more) of these wonderful
birds will fit into your household environment and your lifestyle. From
species identification to finding a local breeder; from nutrition requirements
to housing; all this and frequently asked questions by companion owners
and novice breeders. If you already own a parrotlet, we want you to keep
informed, spark ideas, and hopefully contribute your own experiences as
others have.
Since
this site is a collaborative effort of both companion owners and breeders,
our goal was to provide you with everything you need to get started. We
hope you utilize this information as you consider the purchase of a parrotlet
--- whether for a companion pet or new breeding pair. Life with any bird
can be fullfilling, rewarding, demanding, and even frustrating at times.
Our sincere desire is to be sure you are up to the challenge.
As
with most topics, there are various opinions and claims from proported
experts. What we hope to accomplish with this site is to dispel the internet
rumors and also to present pros and cons on the many factors related to
owning a parrotlet. What is seen or works for one person may not always
be seen or work for another --- no two situations are exactly the same.
We will present both sides of the hot topics so that you can make a decision
based on your own personal experience, desire, and situation. We have
no self-proclaimed experts here.....only experienced companion owners
and breeders that have the desire to share their knowledge, know what
works for them, and more importantly, practice what they preach. Our concern
lies in the future generation of parrotlets and our work lies with each
owner.
| Parrotlets
are one of the smallest known parrots in the world. They make wonderful
companions and have all of the same general characteristics as their
larger counterparts. However, do not let their size fool you. Although
they are a true parrot in a small body, they are capable of intense
loyalty, love and friendship, intelligence, curiosity and energy.
Parrotlets make the perfect apartment or condominium bird due to their
smaller housing requirements and low noise level. They also make great
first-time pets for adults. If they are provided with proper training,
socialization, nutrition, and care, they can share their life with
you for many, many years to come. |
Again,
welcome to our site. New content will continually be added so stop back
often.
Take a look around and see for yourself why we love our birds!
